In its over 100-year history, Yeshiva University has stood as a prestigious academic institution, combining secular and religious scholarship. But it has also produced a great number of artists, writers, and other creatives who have found their creative voice as students at YU. The Journal of the Arts gives every student the opportunity to share that voice with the world.
As we revamp the journal, we’ve chosen to make some changes in order to better represent YU’s creative community. We renamed the journal from the “Journal of Fine Arts” to the “Journal of the Arts,” as we feel it is a more inclusive title that will allow us to showcase creative endeavors that were traditionally not included in the journal. We hope to feature works of music, theater, design, and more alongside the traditional fine art and writing. Besides for the printed journal, we will also be publishing digitally more frequently throughout the year. Online issues will be found on this site.
We’re looking for a talented and dedicated editorial board to curate the journal. We’re looking for students interested in the following disciplines: Fiction, Nonfiction, Poetry, Fine Art, Photography, Film, Music, Performing Arts, and Design. We’re also looking for people to help with layout and managing our social media presence. If you’re interested in any of these roles, we’d love to hear from you. You can contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We’re excited to see and help showcase the incredible talent of the YU student body.
